I have spent nearly two decades developing content and writing interpretive materials for museums, arts organizations, and historic sites.
I began my museum career in education, first as an interpreter at the Children’s Museum in Boston and then as an educator at The Jewish Museum. During that time, I also earned my master’s degree in Museum Education from Bank Street College. My background in education has helped me develop a visitor-centered approach to interpretation, placing particular emphasis on audience needs. I subsequently spent two years honing my research, writing, and exhibition development skills at Lee H. Skolnick Architecture + Design Partnership before striking out on my own. In the years since, I have written dozens of audio and multimedia tours for Antenna International; developed arts-based curriculum materials for The Jewish Museum, The New-York Historical Society, and other organizations; curated exhibits at the Yeshiva University Museum and New York Transit Museum; and written interpretive texts for the New York Botanic Garden, American Museum of Natural History, American Federation of Arts, and other prominent institutions.
After years of working with such a diverse client base, I have become a quick study, able to identify key themes, messages, and organizational concepts across a range of content areas. I have conducted research on a wide variety of topics, often collaborating with designers, curators, and scholars to create rich, engaging, and compelling products.
